William Fuqua

William Lewis "Wayne" Fuqua, 75, of Mebane died April 17, 2017 at his home in Mebane. Wayne was born in October 17, 1942 to John Arch and Mamie Fuqua in Caswell County. He ran Atlantic Service Station for many years. Wayne enjoyed helping his son and grandsons at Chris Fuqua Towing. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Jane Carroll. He married Barbara Tatum on September 30, 1961. Along with his wife he is survived by their two children, Renee McPherson (Michael), Chris Fuqua (Cindy); grandchildren, Kim (Dustin), Ryan (Stephanie), Harley (Peyton), Chris and Ciara; great-grandchildren, Ashton, Wyatt, Bentley, Caylei and Shayanne; brothers, Ralph and Bob; sisters, Doris and Margie. A graveside service to celebrate his life will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Oakwood Cemetery in Mebane by Pastor Charles Moretz. The family will receive friends at McClure Funeral Home in Mebane on Saturday from 12 – 1:45 p.m. before the service. The family will receive friends at the residence at other times and will receive friends there following the service as well.
