William John Thornton

Mr. William John Thornton, 80, of Graham, passed away on Friday, February 14, 2025. He was born on February 07, 1945, in Macon County, Illinois to the late Leonard Thornton and Hilda Browner. William had a passion for golf that he shared with those closest to him, especially with his mother, with whom he fondly spent countless hours on the greens. He was a gifted problem-solver, whether tackling challenges at work or assisting family in any way he could. William will be remembered as a loving father, grandfather, and great grandfather.

William is survived by his wife, Virginia Gail Thornton; his sons, Shawn Thornton (Angela), Shane Thornton (Katherine), and Ryan Thornton (Barbara); his grandchildren, Connor Thornton (Lexi), Preston Thornton, Meredith Thornton, Brandon Thornton, and Nathan Thornton (Korie); and his great grandchildren, Penelope Thornton and Silas Thornton.

A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, February 25, 2025, at McClure Funeral Home in Graham beginning at 1:00PM. The family will receive friends an hour prior to the service beginning at 12:00PM.
