William “Bill” Moultrie Truesdale, Jr of Graham, North Carolina at the age of 72 has finally heard the words he has longed to hear, “Well done thy good and faithful servant, you have fought a good fight, you have finished your race, enter into the joy of the Lord.” Bill was born on August 21, 1950 in Winnsboro, SC to Bettie Rutland Truesdale and the late William Moultrie Truesdale Sr. Bill leaves behind his beloved wife of 51 years, Susan Rae (Smith) Truesdale; his daughter Amy (Rich) Hodges; his son, Jason (Kelly) Truesdale; three grandsons, Ethan Matthew, Eric Clifton and William Elijah Truesdale, all of whom he loved and cherished with all of his heart; two sisters, Rhonda (Jamie) Johnson and Sheila (Pat) Truesdale; one brother Darryl (Melinda) Truesdale; sister in law, Jane (Tony) Kiwacka; and many loving nieces and nephews. In addition to his father, he was predeceased by his sister, Margaret Kurtz and a niece, Liza Johnson. Bill graduated in 1968 from Winnsboro High School in SC. He furthered his education at Holmes Bible College where he studied ministry. He also met his sweetheart Susan there. They were married on May 22, 1971 in Eden, NC. Later, he also attended UVA Colgate Darden School of Business where he gained further knowledge and insight into the textile industry. Bill’s most rewarding “career” was the time he spent in the ministry serving others. He was bi-vocational while simultaneously filling the role of a pastor. His first years of ministry were spent at Victor Hill PH Church in Stoneville, NC where he served as pastor for five years. He served for 13 years at Smith Memorial PH Church in Ridgeway, VA. Later he served at New Hope Church of the Nazarene in Hillsborough, NC and Logan First Church of the Nazarene in Logan, WV. He spent many years in the textile industry. Twenty years of his time was spent at Fieldcrest Cannon. He spent five years with Riddle Manufacturing as director of manufacturing. Later in life, he worked at Merchants Metals and Stephens Pipe and Steel. After retirement, he enjoyed working alongside his son at Fortress Fencing LLC. The family will receive friends from 5pm-7pm on Thursday, April 6, 2023 at McClure Funeral Service in Mebane, at other times they will be at the residence. A funeral service will be held at 2:00pm on Friday, April 7, 2023 at Grace Reformed Baptist Church in Mebane, 939 S Third St, Mebane, NC 27302. Burial will follow in Westwood Cemetery, Davie Rd, Carrboro, NC 27510. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Foundations Bible College at https://www.foundations.edu/
