Zelma Isley Layell

Mrs. Zelma Isley Layell, 88, of Bass Mountain Rd. Snow Camp, NC, passed away on Sunday June 12, 2016 at the Hospice Home in Burlington. A native of Alamance County, NC, she was the daughter of the late William Michael and Martha Stinson Isley. Mrs. Layell was retired from Randon Mills with numerous years of service and she was a member of the Antioch Baptist Church in Burlington. She was an advocate of all animals as she was always being an animal caregiver with love and support. She was known for her caring ways, always putting others needs above her own. Survivors include her son, Michael Finley Layell, of Snow Camp; daughter, Martha Ellen Layell, of Florida; and sister, Rita I. Jones, of Sanford. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Henry Clay Layell and sisters, Margie Harris and Ora Thompson. A Graveside service will be held at 12:00 Noon on Wednesday June 15, 2016 at the Antioch Baptist Church Cemetery in Burlington with the Rev. Steve Loy officiating. There will be no public viewing.
