Alfred Lee McDaniel, 91, of Mebane passed away Monday, May 3, 2021. He was a native of Shelby, NC, Retired Electronics Engineer and Master Computer Programmer, a member of Bayside Chapel in Mannahawkin, NJ and a US Air Force Veteran of the Korean Conflict. He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry David and Bertha Ballew McDaniel; four siblings, Henry David, Clarence Bryson, Clifford, and Dorothy McDaniel Butler; first wife Audrey McDaniel, daughter Beth Potter, granddaughter Katie Torrell, and grandson John Matuska Jr.
He is survived by his wife and former high school sweetheart, Betty Webster McDaniel of the home; Son John Matuska Sr. of NJ: daughter, Gloria Torrell of FL; three grandchildren Jason, Kelly and Johnny; nieces Brenda, Patty, Lynn, Jemmy Lea, Nancy; and four step children, Deborah, Dennis, Craig, Cathy, and Annette and their children and grandchildren. He was a man doubly blessed with family.
A Graveside service to celebrate his life will be 11:00 AM Friday, May 7, 2021 at Alamance Memorial Park by Pastor Rick Webster. Military Honors will follow. The family will receive friends following the service. It is requested that those attending wear masks and practice social distancing. McClure Funeral Home in Graham is assisting the McDaniel family.
