Mrs. Alice Clayton Martin, 67, of Burlington, NC passed away on Thursday February 6, 2020 at her residence. A native of Alamance Co. NC, she was the daughter of the late Gilbert Sr. and Margaret Ramsey Clayton. Alice loved to do floral work, designing flower arrangements and just being able to make others smile with flowers. She was the Pillar and Rock of her family and was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend to all. Alice was a lifelong member of The Lamb’s Chapel and was known for being a God fearing woman as she loved the Lord, and her Church family. She volunteered in many was around the Church especially when it came to doing arrangements so that she may put a smile on someone’s face. Survivors include her husband of 43 years, William “Larry” Martin, of the home’ her loving daughters, Teresa Martin Sykola and husband Raymond, of Savannah, GA and Leigh Anne Martin, of Burlington; her loving grandchildren, Ela Rae Sykola and Lela Naomei Turner; her sisters, Carol Warren and Phyllis Pierce and husband Ronnie, both of Burlington; her brother, Wayne Clayton and wife Brenda, of Gibsonville and many loving nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Charlotte Workman and her brother, Gilbert Clayton Jr. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday February 10, 2020 at the Lamb’s Chapel in Haw River with the Pastor Brian Biggers officiating. Burial will follow in Graham Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 12:00 Noon until service time on Monday at the Church and other times at the residence of the family.
