Annie Mae (Rice) Johnson

Mrs. Annie Mae Rice Johnson 98, of Mebane, NC passed away on Thursday October 14, 2021 at Compass Healthcare and Rehab in Hawfields. A native of Alamance Co., NC she was the daughter of the late William N. and Elsie Fields Rice and the wife of the late Ambrose Johnson. Annie Mae loved to fish at the coast and just being at the beach with the salty air all around her. She was known for being her “own boss” but always putting others needs above her own. Annie Mae enjoyed to Jimmy Swaggart Show and all of the music played. Survivors include her nieces, Elsie Hunter, Mary L. Tackett, Billie Jean Neese, Bessie Hoover, and Evelyn Oakley; her nephews, Hermon A. Lloyd, Stanley Rice and Wade Crabtree, and many other loving great nieces, nephews and other family members. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Pauline Crabtree, Agnes Lloyd, and Mable Isley; brothers, Jesse Rice, Floyd Rice and Alton Rice; nieces, Sarah James, Nellie Walker, and Frances Pore; and her nephews, J.E. Lloyd, Marlin Rice, George Isley, and Walter Isley Jr. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM on Sunday October 17, 2021 at Lighthouse Baptist Church in Mebane with the Pastor David Hopkins and Wade Crabtree officiating. Mrs. Johnson will be open to the public from 12:00 Noon until 5:00 PM on Saturday October 16, 2021 at the McClure Funeral Home in Mebane.
