Wayne had also done benefit rides for other veterans, cancer fundraisers, and Humane Society organizations. Wayne had worked with the Times News with 16 years of service and he enjoyed fishing with his friends and family. Wayne loved many things in life but nothing was more special to him than his grandchildren. Survivors include his wife, Marsha Davis Baker, of the home; daughters, Kelli Gilley and husband Shane, of Graham, Candace Baker and Fiancé Benny Sharpe, of Durham, and Amanda Lucas, of Snow Camp; his sons, Thomas Baker and wife Jamie, of Mebane and Stephen Baker and wife Amanda, of Graham; grandchildren, Starr Gilley, Austin Gilley, Shea Sharpe, Morgan Sharpe, A’Mya Atwater, Bryanna Lucas, Treygan Lucas, Taylor Evans, Dylan Baker, Tolan Baker, and Presley Baker; a great grandchild, Isaiah Evans; step father, Roy Thomas Hall, of Mebane; sisters, Debra Baker Perry and husband Keith, of Burlington, Linda Hall Haith, of Burlington, Faith Hall Welch and husband Phillip, of Haw River, and Dawn Hall Kirkpatrick and husband Mike, of Mebane; a special Aunt, Mae Suggs, of Mebane and many loving nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his grandparents, Ariel Goodson, John and Irene Baker. A funeral service will be held at 4:00 PM on Thursday May 16, 2019 at the Burlington Assembly of God with the Pastors Howard Thompson and Bryan Rainbow officiating. The family will receive friends from 5 until 7 pm on Wednesday May 15, 2019 at McClure Funeral Service in Graham and other times at the residence of his sister Debra Perry.
