Carl Hilbert Fisher, Jr., age 82 went to be with the Lord on August 17, 2023, in his home surrounded by his family. Carl was born September 25, 1940, in Wilmington, North Carolina to the late Carl Hilbert Fisher, Sr. and Lena Belle (Gobble) Fisher. He graduated from Donelson High School in Tennessee.
Carl married his high school sweetheart, Jacquelyn (Winfrey) Fisher in 1960. They had three daughters. He attended the University of Tennessee and Kentucky State College. He received a degree in immunohematology and actively assisted in blood banking during the Vietnam War. He was the National Sales Manager for SmithKline Diagnostics. He was devoted to helping people diagnose cancer and seek early treatment for colorectal and breast cancers, and early eye diseases. The family moved to Pennsylvania and began an inner-city ministry where they spent time sharing Jesus and serving others. After moving to North Carolina in 1986, he began his own business, Professional Healthcare Associates.
Carl loved to read his Bible and together with Jackie they prayed for their children and grandchildren every morning. He enjoyed working in the yard, chatting with neighbors, tending his grape vines, fishing, and family get togethers including detailed scavenger hunts. Sharing Jesus with others was always on his mind. He was a loving man, devoted husband, father, and grandfather, always thinking of others first. “To know him was to love him.”
He is survived by his wife, Jackie, his three daughters, Andrea (David) Andrews, Jennifer (Jeffery) Hogg, and Melanie (Joseph) Varga; 14 grandchildren, Ryan (Christina) Andrews, Benjamin (Kimberly) Andrews, Carolyn (Joshua) Miller, Jordan (Britne) Andrews, Hannah (Benjamin) Saconn, Katelyn Joy Andrews, Jonathan (Megan) Hogg, Joanna (Erik) Almquist, Joshua (Megan) Hogg, Jesse (Kelsey) Hogg, Daniel Varga, Andrew (Ashley) Varga, Madelyn (Micah) La Tour, Luke Varga; 25 great grandchildren, Gavin Andrews, Landon Andrews, Caleb Andrews, Savannah Andrews, Connor Andrews, Bladen Miller, Lexton Miller, Judah Miller, Isaiah Miller, Kara Andrews, Josiah Andrews (in memory of), Eli Andrews, Nathaniel Andrews, Leo Saconn, Aiden Hogg, Aubree Hogg, Quinn Hogg, Colette Hogg, Graham Almquist, Reagan Almquist, Andi Almquist, Jonny Almquist, Kyeler Hogg, Christian Hogg, and Hadley Hogg.
