Cheylan Wiant Obituary

Ms. Cheylan Faith Wiant, 24 of Mebane, NC gained her angel wings in the early morning hours of Monday May 25, 2020.

No farewell words were spoken, no time to say goodbye, you were gone before we knew it, and only God knows why.

Cheylan was born in Weston, West Virginia on November 29, 1995 to Mark Wiant and Rebecca Hunt. At the age of seven months old Cheylan moved with her family to Mebane, NC where her Aunt, Cynthia Hibbs, helped to raise her for several years.  In 2013 she found her life’s purpose in becoming a mother to her beautiful daughter Nataleigh Elise who survives her. Cheylan also left behind her mother, Rebecca Howell of Mebane, NC, her father and step mother Mark and Mistel Wiant of Vienna, WV, two sisters Alissa Wiant and her fiance Dustin Evans and Marah Howell and two brothers Elijah Wiant and Brayden Wiant, step-sister Kira Adams, step-brother Kaleb Owsley, nieces Aubree, McKenzie and Estelle. She is also survived by her grandparents Macil Hunt, Michael and Vicki Hibbs and Tony and Becky Howell as well as many Aunts, Uncles and cousins that will miss her smiles and laughter.  Waiting to meet Cheylan with open arms were her grandmother Doris Brown, her grandfather Lawrence Hunt, her step father Mark Howell and Uncle Robert Hunt.

Cheylan was a true giver to so many. She loved all of God's creatures and had an innate heart for second chances seeking to find ways to give and help others! She had a contagious bright smile and a magical personality that was accompanied by a fierce intensity and passion for anything that came her way. Cheylan found joy and laugher in so many things. She loved music. She and her daughter sang a lot together. She loved Lauren Daigle’s recent big hit “You Say” as she said it resonated with her own life…She loved ALL country music. She enjoyed the outdoors, she loved camping and fishing in any pond she could find, boating and being around any water! She especially loved the beach and the times she spent with Papaw Syler, Lynn Small, on Oak Island. Cheylan was an amazing cook. She will be remembered well for cooking her unforgettable spaghetti sauce and teaching Nataleigh how to cook pancakes with peanut butter. Her biggest love in life and greatest accomplishment will always be her daughter Nataleigh. Cheylan loved being a mom more than anything else. She strived the very best to always give Nataleigh the best in life at all times. Cheylan had accepted the Lord as her Savior and she loved to be moved by the spirt with a great sermon and daily devotions.  Cheylan was the full time Alzheimer caretaker for Nataleighs great grandmother Marian Stuart of McLeansville. She often stayed with Marian and Johnny Stuart in their home as she had adopted Natalieghs father Garrett Small’s family as her own just as they loved her and welcomed her as family always. She in her life had gained another sister, McKenzie Small and another mentor and mom Elizabeth Ward and fiance Steven Forester. Cheylan loved more than anything her nickname Aunt Chey Chey given to her by the sweet loves of her life Aubree, McKenzie and Estelle. Her warmth and love with children was precious and her protection of them was always unwavering.
