Clay Nelson Price, 19 of Mebane passed away Friday, February 26, 2021 at home. He was born June 1, 2001 in Alamance County. Clay graduated from Eastern Alamance High School in 2019, where he was a proud member of the men’s golf team. He was currently attending Alamance Community College.
Clay is survived by his parents, Bobby and Tammy Price of Mebane and his sister, Kasey Price. He leaves behind his maternal grandparents, Earl and Agnes Nelson of Prospect Hill and his Aunt and Uncle, Terri and Barry Craver and cousins, William and McKenzie Craver, of Greensboro, as well as an Aunt Terri Price, of Sanford. Clay also leaves behind a special cousin and her husband, Shaina Danielle and Daniel Clark, of Waynesville. Clay was proceeded in death by his paternal grandparents, Bobby and Doris Price and Uncle Todd Price all of Sanford.
Clay fought a long and hard battle against cancer and did this with such grace and determination. He was always so positive and optimistic. Clay was so strong and made everyone feel better when he flashed that winning smile. He will be missed greatly.
The family would like to recognize the following for their compassion and love that they have shown us – Patty, Stephanie, and April of Hospice; everyone that works on the floor at 5 Children’s at UNC Hospital and Diana Gordon and Dr. Stuart Gold at UNC Children’s Cancer Hospital. The family also wants to extend our appreciation to everyone that has prayed for us and loved us during Clay’s journey. Thank you all for the continued support.
Visitation will be held at McClure Funeral Home in Mebane on Tuesday, March 2nd from 2pm-5pm. A private service for the family will be held in the chapel prior to visitation. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to hospice or any children’s cancer organization of your choice.
