David Franklin Wood, 67, of Graham passed away Sunday, January 17, 2021. He was born in Marrakech, Morocco, Africa. He was an Auto Mechanic by trade, working at Burlington Dodge and H&R Auto Repair, as well as an auto body shop insurance adjustor, after his injury. His passion was racing and working on any type of car, including being part of the late Larry Isley’s pit crew. But most especially spending time with his granddaughters. He is the son of the late Walter Franklin Wood, Jr. & the late Hilda Staley Wood. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Sandra Martin.
He is survived by his daughter, Jennifer Halacheff of Snow Camp; granddaughters, Braelyn Halacheff and Zoe Halacheff; son-in-law, Ralph Halacheff of Graham; sister, Jeanette “Lynn” Akins and husband David of Burlington; Sandra’s children, DeAnne, Julie and Jimmy; Lynn’s children, Steve and Christy; and numerous great nieces and great nephews.
A memorial/tribute service to celebrate his life will be 3:30 Monday, January 25, 2021 at Ace Speedway conducted by Pastor Crystal Bryant-Curasi. The family will receive friends following the service.
