Delores Linville Mills

Delores Linville Mills, 81, went home to be with The Lord on Friday, June 17, 2022.  She peacefully passed away at home.  Her faith in God sustained her as she fought the good fight and won the battle with dignity and grace.  She was a native of Alamance County, a place she lovingly called home her entire life.  She was the daughter of the late Earl Frank Linville and Nora Conklin Linville.  Delores was a graduate of Walter M. Williams High School, Class of 1958.  She also attended the Technical Institute of Alamance (TIA).  Delores married the love of her life, Junior, in 1960 and they were happily married for 61 years.  They met at Western Electric in the late 1950s where they both worked.  Since 1967, she was Co-owner and Secretary/Treasurer working with her husband at United Sprinkler Co., Inc. 

She attended The Lamb’s Chapel.  She took pride helping her husband, Junior, grow muscadine grapes and making wine and jelly which they enjoyed sharing with family and friends.  Delores will be remembered as a very genuine and generous person with a passion for many things in life, but none surpassed the love she had for her family.  She was an excellent cook and enjoyed sewing. 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, I. B. Mills, Jr., daughter, Janet Mills McPherson, and brothers, Tom Linville and Don Linville. 

Left to treasure her memory, she is survived by her daughter, Lori Mills, son, Brad Mills (Karen), five grandchildren, Wil Woodard, Caitlin Woodard McDevitt (Jordan), Cody Mills, Lacy Mills, and Amber McPherson, brother, Charles Linville (Ingrid), and sisters, Mona Straughn and Bonnie Stewart, and many nieces and nephews. She was also looking forward to the birth of her first great-grandchild in July. 

The family will receive family and friends at Alamance Memorial Park on Monday, June 27, 2022 from 11:00am to 1:00pm, followed by the Funeral Service beginning at 1:30pm.  Burial will be held at Alamance Memorial Park following the service.
