Eleanor Alice Sauers, 82, of Mebane, NC died surrounded by her family on Monday, February 24, 2020. Eleanor was born in Brooklyn, New York and lived on Long Island with her husband Ronald Dale Sauers Sr. before she moved to Mebane, NC.
Eleanor loved to cook for her family and those neighbors and friends she considered family, was wonderfully creative, and had a special eye for color. Whether expressing her creativity through her watercolor painting, cross-stitching, or gardening, her love was visible in all that she touched. Eleanor found special joy and peace in her gardens, creating beautiful landscapes bursting with color and purpose for all to enjoy. She would often be up with the sun to tend to her many variety of flowers and plants so all around her could enjoy their beauty as they started their day.
An avid reader, Eleanor would spend her afternoons curled up with a book and her puppy in her screened in porch, watching the birds, and enjoying the beauty she created. Her final days were filled with laughter and love.
Eleanor’s son Ronald Sauers, Jr, his wife Victoria, daughter Patricia Seto, her husband Keith, daughter Sherri Reed, her husband Paul, son Gary Sauers, his wife Carla, her grandchildren Lyndsay, Lauren, her husband Christopher, Danielle, Jordan, Morgan, Allison, Serena, Kevin and Nora Lee, and great grandson Joseph and everyone lucky enough to call Eleanor their friend will celebrate her life on Saturday, March 14, 2020 at 11:00 AM in the McClure Funeral Home Chapel in Mebane.
