Elva Padgett, 84, passed away on November 18, 2020 at her home, after a long, hard fought battle with Dementia. She was the loving wife of the late Max Padgett and daughter of the late John and Pearl Tomlin Allen. She loves Jesus, her family and friends and always put others before herself, even in her last days. Elva’s family took care of her during her illness because they love her and wanted to return the care she always provided for them. Elva’s caregiver, Sharon Harvey, helped the family tremendously in caring for her. Sharon has been part of the family for the past four years and Elva loved her too.
Elva was a member of New Covenant Fellowship Church and Rebekah Ladies Sunday School class, where she lovingly referred to the ladies as “Sister”.
Survivors include her son, Gary Padgett; daughter, Sharon Holt (Kerry); brother, Joe Allen; sister, Wanda Holland; sister-in-laws, Mary Robbins and Betty Padgett; grandsons, Kyle and Shawn Holt and many nieces and nephews.
Other than her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, James and Vernon Allen and sisters, Virginia Hamrick and Jean Powers.
The family wants to thank AuthoraCare Collective for the compassion and care they provided to Elva and the family during the last two months.
A graveside service will be held at 2pm on Monday November 23, 2020 at Alamance Memorial Park.
Memorial contributions may be made to New Covenant Fellowship Church, Alzheimer’s Association and AuthoraCare Collective.
