George Henry White

Mr. George Henry White, 101, of Haw River, NC, passed away on Friday January 4, 2019 at Alamance Regional Medical Center. A native of Manhattan, NY, he was the son of the late George Ira and Bridget Carraher White. George was a proud veteran of the US ARMY serving in WWII fighting in the European/African/Middle Eastern Campaign. He loved to travel to visit with friends and family as well as spending time camping. George enjoyed nothing more than having his cup of coffee and a donut. Survivors include his daughters, Barbara Howard and husband Leslie, of TN and Patricia Armstrong, of Haw River; his sons, Thomas White, of FL, Dennis White and wife Lynda, of FL, Phillip White and wife Kathy, of NY, Terrance White and wife Norma, of Kernersville and James White, of Haw River; 17 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife, Lillian Johannsen White; great grandchildren, Michael White and Rachel Mullen and a brother, Eddie White. A funeral service will be held at 3:00 PM on Tuesday January 8, 2019 at Hawfields Presbyterian Church with the Pastor David Ealy officiating. The family will receive friends from 2:00 until service time on Tuesday at the Church and other times at the residence of the family.
