Imogene Murphy, 83, passed away on March 16, 2020. She was born in Johnston County to the late Wilbert and Mayzell Boykin Hill. Imogene loved her family, enjoyed fishing and going to the beach.
She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Benny Murphy; sons, Tim Murphy (Robin) of Graham and Benny “Snook” Murphy (Debbie) of Mebane; daughter, Pamela Foster (Doug) of Snow Camp; grandchildren, Christy Lutterloh (Clay), Alan Murphy (Kristy), Matthew Murphy (Ashley), Kimberly Marrero (Javy), Corey Murphy and Breanna Grizzle; step-grandchildren, Brandon Hirt, Whitney Brown (Mike), Dustin Hirt (Deirdre), Tanner Hirt and Michael Honeycutt (Kasey); 15 great grandchildren; brother, William Hill (Martha); sisters, Kay Taylor, Sandra Phillips, Elizabeth Boyette (James), Linda White (William), Sharon Turnage (Carlton) and Debra Walston (Donald).
Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by a grandson, Aaron Grizzle and a sister Marvelene Carico.
Public viewing will be available at McClure Funeral Service in Mebane on Friday March 20, 2020 from 12pm-5pm. A private family graveside service will be held in Oakwood Cemetery in Mebane.
