Mr. Jerry Stephen “Steve” Euliss 73, of Graham, NC transitioned to Glory on Sunday May 23, 2021 at the Hospice home in Burlington with his wife and family by his side. A native of Alamance Co. NC, he was the son of the late William James Sr. “Dub” and Rachel Lisk Euliss. Steve loved the Lord and had attended First Baptist Church of Graham, Fellowship Baptist Church, West Burlington Church of God and Triad Fellowship. Over the years at these churches he served as a former Sunday School Teacher, Finance Committees, Board of Trusties, Continuing Education Committees, Youth leader and Sunday School Superintendent. Steve received his B.S. Degree from Appalachian State University in 1970. He had been the Head Football and JV Baseball Coach at Chatham Central High School as well as a Tournament Director for numerous district, state, region, zone and national baseball and softball tournaments. Over the years Steve enjoyed volunteering for just about anything. He had a special place in his heart for The Alamance/Burlington Special Olympics which he volunteered for over numerous years and sat on the Special Olympics Committee for numerous years, Director with pony Baseball and Softball, Inc., and Chairman for Arts Around The Square. Steve also served The NC Recreation and Parks Society as Chair of County Division, Served on numerous committees and administrated professional standards certifications. He also was Director of Parks and Recreation for the City of Mebane and retired from the Alamance County Recreation and Parks Department with many years of service. Steve was in the Insurance business as owner of Euliss Insurance and was Co-Owner of Eastway Family Care Homes. In his later years Steve was an avid golfer and administrated the Alamance Senior Golf Association (A.S.G.A) and was inducted into the Mebane Sports Hall of Fame and Pony Baseball and Softball Hall of Fame. Survivors include his wife, Donna Sullivan Euliss; his sons, Christopher Euliss and Brian Blackard; a step son, Steven Greene; his grandchildren, Landon and Ava Blackard; a step grandson, Ethan Randall Webster; his loving brother, Jimmy Euliss and wife Betty and a nephew, Greg Euliss. A funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM on Friday May 28, 2021 at the McClure Funeral Home Chapel in Graham with the Pastors Olin Tatum and Zachary Barnes officiating. Burial will follow alongside his parents, at Alamance Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 PM on Thursday May 27, 2021 at McClure in Graham and other times at the residence of the family.
