Jimmy R. Cobb Sr.

Jimmy Ray Cobb, Sr., 76, of Burlington passed away Monday, March 11, 2019 at the Hospice Home of Burlington. Jimmy was born in Alamance County to Weldon James Cobb and Alice Leona Watson Cobb both deceased. He was a loving father, husband, grandfather and friend to all. Jimmy was a hard working tobacco farmer who loved being outdoors and working with his hands. He was one of a kind and loved his family. In his younger years he enjoyed racing his 1958 Impala. He was a member of Open Bible Baptist Church.

Jimmy is survived by his children, Donald Handy (Amy), Jimmy Ray Cobb, Jr. (Pamela), and Sherry Cobb (April) all of Burlington. Grandsons, Joey Cobb, Blake Cobb, and Chase Cobb. Step Grandchild, Jeffery Kidd. Three great grandsons and one great granddaughter. Siblings, Donnie Cobb (Judy), Ted Cobb, Janie Perry (Coy), and Linda Watkins (William) all of Burlington.

Other than his parents he is also preceded in death by his wife, Doris Jeanette Montgomery Cobb.

A funeral service will be held Thursday, March 14, 20129 at 11:00 AM at Deep Creek Baptist Church. Officiating will be Reverend Tommy Fargis. Burial will follow in Alamance Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at McClure Funeral Home in Graham on Wednesday, March 13,2019 from 6 until 8 PM.

Other times they will be at the home of Jimmy Ray Cobb, Jr., 2267 Deep Creek Church Rd., Burlington, NC.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care of Alamance/Caswell, 916 Chapel Hill Rd, Burlington, NC 27215.
