Mrs. Joyce Turner Mahan, 81 of Burlington, NC passed away on Monday February 17, 2020 at her residence. A native of Summers Co. WV, she was the daughter of the late Harold and Florence Tyler Turner. Joyce loved to farm with her family and was known for being a hard worker and would teach anyone how to throw hay. She also enjoyed cooking for her family and tending to her garden. She was always there to support her children and grandchildren at their ball games and every other aspect of life. Joyce was retired as a supervisor from Lemco with many years of service. She was a faithful member of Union Ridge Church where she taught Sunday School for many years and she loved her Church family. Survivors include her children, Jeff Hudson and wife Cindy, of Burlington, Dean Hudson and wife Heather, of Topsail Island, Chris Mahan, of Burlington, Ed Mahan, of Burlington and Linda Mahan, of Raleigh; her sisters, Barbara Jean Fox, Janet Adkins and Marsha Gomez; her loving 10 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, and her many loving nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, James Edward Mahan; her grandson, Josh Hudson; sisters, Virginia Jumpe and Marilyn Rodgerson. A Graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday February 21, 2020 at Union Ridge Church Cemetery with the Pastor Dan Ficklin officiating. The family will receive friends following the service in the Church Fellowship and other times at the residence of the family.
