Junia "Alton" Myrick Obituary

Mr. Junia “Alton” Myrick, 100 of Graham, NC passed away on Saturday January 16, 2021 at his residence. A native of Alamance Co. NC he was the son of the late Numor Reid and Minnie Frazier Myrick. Alton was a proud Veteran of the US Army and stormed the beach at Normandy on that infamous day. Alton was a member of the National Brotherhood of Electricians. He was also a proud member of the Thomas M. Holt Masonic Lodge #492 AF&AM. Alton had recently received his 60 year pin from the Lodge which he was so proud of. He was a member of Phillip’s Chapel United Methodist Church. Survivors include his daughter, Connie Ross; his sons, David Allen Myrick and Alton “Gene” Myrick and wife Anita; 7 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife, Margaret Freeman Myrick; two sons, Comann “Earl” Myrick and James Reid Myrick; his sister, Amanda Louise Myrick and his brothers, James Lafoy Myrick and Numor “Tabby” Myrick. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday January 22, 2021 at the Phillip’s Chapel UMC Cemetery alongside his son-in-law, Norman Ross with Military and Masonic rites. Pastor John Woodard will be officiating. Alton will be open to the public for viewing on Thursday January, 21 from 9 AM until 5PM at McClure Funeral Service in Graham. The Thomas M. Holt Lodge #492 will hold emergent communication at 12:00  on Friday January 22, 2021 for Bro. Myrick and Bro. Ross
