Laura Jane "Laurie" Moss

Laura Jane “Lori” Moss, 51, of Chapel Hill died July 10, 2020. She was a native of Alamance County, graduated from Southern High School, East Carolina University and a member of Cedar Cliff United Methodist Church. She is daughter of the late Gilbert and Rachel Payne Moss. She considered Margaret Foster as her adopted mother and cherished time spent with the Foster family.  Lori’s love of animals was a huge part of her life, from taking care of her mother’s geriatric dogs during their declining years to trying to rescue and rehome all the stray cats in her neighborhood. One of her successes was her own cat Star, who she lavished with love and affection. She also enjoyed spending time at the beach.

She is survived by her sister, Elaine Moss Johnson; brother, Gilbert Timothy Moss and her cat, Star.

A graveside service to celebrate her life will be held 11:00 AM Wednesday, July 15, 2020 in the Cedar Cliff United Methodist Church Cemetery by Pastor Jimmy Wooten. The family requests that those attending the service practice COVID-19 protocol by wearing masks and social distancing. Memorials may be made to Cedar Cliff United Methodist Church, 4683 Cedar Cliff Road, Graham, NC 27253 or any animal rescue in her honor.
