Lenda "Mama" Carol (Barrington) Franklin

Mrs. Lenda Carol Barrington “Mama” Franklin 73, of Graham, NC passed away Friday May 28, 2021 at her residence. A native of Little Washington, NC she was the daughter of the late John Ricks and Hessie Wilson Barrington. Her love was unconditional as she was a devoted wife of 51 years, mother, grandmother, sister and friend to many. Lenda lived life to the fullest, having a wonderful sense of humor with all of her sassiness and her sayings that made everyone smile. Lenda always put her family first especially when it came to her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed westerns and Elvis Presley and she will forever be remembered for her strong will and the ability to put others needs above her own. She was a longtime member of Salem United Methodist Church.  Survivors include her daughter, Tory Apple and husband Chris; a son, David Shawn Franklin and companion Krystal; her grandchildren, Destiny Daniels and Kaleb Franklin; and a sister, Donna Faulkner. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, Steven David Franklin; a daughter, Tammy Franklin; a grandchild, Logan Franklin; her brother, Ricky Barrington and her sisters, Margaret Hodge and Doris Mullis. A funeral service will be held at 4:00 PM on Tuesday June 1, 2021 at the McClure Funeral Home Chapel in Graham with the Pastor Darrell Moser officiating. Burial will follow in Salem UMC Cemetery where she will be laid to rest alongside her husband. The family will receive friends from 2 until 4 prior to the service on Tuesday at McClure in Graham.
