Mr. Marion Elmo Bare of Graham, NC passed away from declining health on Tuesday, September 20, 2022, at his home. A native of Chatham County, Mr. Bare was born to Jackson “Watt” Carl Bare, and Mary Elizabeth Thrift, both deceased. Mr. Bare worked as a machinist specializing as a tool and die maker. Mr. Bare was a longtime member of North Graham Baptist Church. Marion loved music, playing his instruments, listening to country & western bluegrass were some of his favorite things to do. Marion can be remembered as a very handy man, he could fix anything, he was a talented machinist & welder, so good he could weld the two ends of a coat hanger together. Marion made sure to share his handywork skills with his children, his son Mark absorbed as much as he could while holding the flashlight for Marion as he worked his way through something, and his daughter Pam, was taught early in life how to properly use a screwdriver and hammer. Marion was a man of many talents, but he can best be described as a man who loved God and loved his family. He always made sure to be a devoted husband, father, and papa, doing everything he could to make sure his family was taken care of.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Bare was preceded in death by his brother Paul Bare, Jackson Carl (J.C.) Bare Jr., and sisters, Phoebe Moon, Sarah Robinson (Pud), Hilda Debruler.
Marion is survived by his wife of 63 years, Catherine Bare, a son, Mark Bare, a daughter, Pamela Bare Robertson (Jay), two grandchildren, Daniel Paul and Mary Grace Robertson, and a sister, of Missouri, Barbara Ann Roasch (Jerry).
