Mary Alice Wilson Forrest, 82 of Mebane passed away August 31, 2021, with her children by her side.
She was born to the late Henry “Dan” and Maude Wilson in Mebane, NC. Mary graduated from Mebane High School and received an AS degree in Business from Alamance Community College.
She lived in Hillsborough for 24 years before relocating back to her hometown of Mebane in 1993. Mary is survived by two children: Alan Forrest and wife Julie, of Hillsborough, NC and Cara Marlow and husband Mike, of Burlington, NC. She is also survived by 5 grandchildren: Camryn Marlow, Jules Marlow, Patrick Forrest, Alex Forrest and Drew Forrest as well as many nieces and nephews. Mary was also preceded in death by one sister and five brothers.
Mary worked at Duke Medical Center Department of Cardiology as a financial manager until her retirement. She was a passionate and accomplished quilter and a member of the Alamance Piecemakers Quilt Guild. Mary was a lifelong member of the United Methodist Church, serving as district president and treasurer of the United Methodist Women. She loved to cook and above all else, she was devoted to her family and her many friends. Mary will be remembered for her quick wit, her love of her family and her wonderful pound cakes.
The family will be receiving visitors at Hebron United Methodist Church in Mebane on Monday, September 6, 2021 at 3:00 p.m. The graveside service and burial will follow at 4:00 p.m. at the Hebron United Methodist Church Cemetery. McClure Funeral Service in Mebane is assisting the family.
