Mary Ruth (Owens) Gardner

Mrs. Mary Ruth Owens Gardner 83, of Graham, NC passed away on January 21, 2023 at Compass Healthcare. A native of Rowan Co. NC she was the daughter of the late George and Connie Harkey Owens. Mary was a resident at Compass Healthcare in Hawfields for 7 years where she enjoyed the companionship of many of the staff and residents. She loved the Lord, her family and making things with her hands. There are many wreaths for all seasons and Easter Bunny eggs that many of us have in remembrance of her. Survivors include her son, George Lee Gardner; a daughter-in-law, Kimberly Gardner; her loving grandchildren, Shannon Gardner and Eric Gardner and his wife Aceneth; her great grandchildren, Addison Parrott, Dylan Parrott and Luna Gardner; and her sister, Linda Goodman and many loving nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, Samuel T. Gardner Sr.; her son, Samuel T Gardner Jr. and many loving brothers and sisters. A funeral service will be held at 12:00 Noon on Thursday January 26, 2023 at the McClure Funeral Home Chapel in Graham with the Pastor Stuart Johnston officiating. Burial will follow alongside her husband, Samuel at Mt. Hermon UMC Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service on Thursday at the funeral home and other times at the residence of her daughter in law, Kimberly Gardner. McClure Funeral Service in Graham is assisting the family.
