Max Leo LuQuire, of Biscoe, NC passed away on February 12, 2025 after a long illness.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM, Sunday, February 23, 2025 at Biscoe First Baptist Church, 225 E. Main St., Biscoe, NC with the Rev. Larry Wilson officiating.
The eldest son of Leo and Helen LuQuire was born on January 30, 1936 in Laurinburg, NC. He was married to Jane Navy LuQuire for 69 years. He was a devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather.
Max was a man of few words and many talents. Max wrestled for UNC, was a member of their Pistol Team, served in the US Navy, studied Chemistry, loved to read textbooks, tinker on computers, attempt to play golf, care for his cat, Tar Baby, and cheer on his beloved Tar Heels.
He spent many years in Textile Quality Assurance, worked for the USPS and ended his career as CEO of Wrap, Pack & Ship in Mebane, NC where he shared a business with his wife, daughter, and son-in-law. Max was a hardworking, dedicated, and a prime example of a Southern gentleman whom you never saw without wearing a sports coat.
Max was a Deacon and Sunday school teacher. He was very involved with church activities and ministries at First Baptist Church, Altavista, VA, Tabernacle Baptist Church, Raleigh, NC and Biscoe First Baptist Church, Biscoe, NC.
Max was preceded in death by his brothers, Charles and Tommy. He is survived and loved dearly by his wife, Jane, daughters Melissa (Gary) Brant, of Mebane, NC and Laura (Jordan) Wrenn, of Wake Forrest, NC; grandchildren, Meredith (BJ) Lineback, of Kernersville, NC, Matthew (Ashley) Brant, of Cedar Grove, NC, Katy Brant (Chris Norris), of Mebane, NC, Sarah Jane Wrenn and Will Wrenn, of Wake Forrest, NC; great grandchildren Dawson and Chandler Lineback, Naiomi Snead, Xander Totten, Payton Triplett, Leah Brant, and McKinley Norris, as well as cousins, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and many long-time friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Biscoe First Baptist Church, 225 E. Main St. Biscoe, NC 27209.
