Max R. (Rusty) Cartner was promoted to eternity October 17, 2021. Born February 10, 1952, Mr. Cartner was the owner of Russells’ Garage. He was the first of five children born to Max A. & Marilla W. Cartner, both deceased. He was of the Christian Faith.
“Rusty” spent the majority of his working career as an independent garage owner, specializing in agricultural equipment maintenance and repair. Fiercely independent, “Rusty” always enjoyed making tractors and other equipment “run again” thanks to his repair skills.
To cherish his memory, he leaves behind his wife Deborah (Debbie) of the home, along with five daughters;
Deidre Wright (Andrew), Brittney Cartner (Dean Stockwell), Maxine Cartner (Taylor McVey), Lexie Mae Binkley (Jeffrey), Trisha Cartner (Kyle Vanderpool) and seven grandchildren. He is survived by a brother, James Cartner (Gayle) and sisters Kathy Gilliam (Kevin) & Amy Perry (Ricky). He was predeceased by his brother Samuel Cartner.
McClure Funeral Service in Graham has charge of Mr. Cartners’ arrangements.
Visitation with the family is scheduled for 6 to 8 PM on Wednesday, October 20th at McClure Funeral Service, 1030 South Main St. in Graham with a Memorial Service to be held at Moore’s Chapel Baptist Church in Saxapahaw Thursday, October 21st at 11 AM with Pastor Fred Tredwell officiating. The family will receive visitors one hour prior to the service at the church on Thursday.
