Mildred Marie Kernodle Carmichael, 77, of Mebane, NC, went home to be with the Lord on October 2, 2019. She loved the Lord and Believed he would take care of her. Born June 18, 1942, she was the daughter of the late Robert Artis Kernodle and Daisy Bell Pickett Kernodle. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Cynthia Roxanne Carmichael Forsythe and all of her siblings. In her early years of rearing her children she enjoyed sewing clothes for them. She loved houseplants and planting flowers in her flowers beds. In her later years before retiring she got into crafts, making different things out of safety pins and beads. She found a love for Christmas villages, did she ever, many a shopping trips for just Christmas villages pieces. She would start working on the villages in October so they could be ready and enjoyed longer. She loved how the great grandkids enjoyed the movements and lights of the villages. She was a very independent and strong willed woman. She leaves behind to cherish her memory daughters, Sherby Wood (Mike) of Efland, Theresa Kontoulas (Greg), of Haw River, and son Keith Carmichael (Deborah) of Efland. Six grandchildren, Kristie Jones (Mike), of Burlington, Tina Wood (Chad Parnell) of Efland, Timothy Kontoulas (Audrey) of Graham, Matthew Forsythe (Hannah) of Roanoke, VA, Christopher Kontoulas (Callie) of Graham, Keirah Carmichael, Jamestown. Six great grandchildren, Tate Jones, Bailey Jones, Parker Kontoulas, Talon Kontoulas, Lenox Kontoulas, Xander Kontoulas and a special friend, Nester Cuevas (Pancho). The funeral service will be held at 3:00 PM on Sunday October 6, 2019 at the McClure Funeral Home Chapel in Mebane with the Pastor Odell Link officiating. Burial will follow in Mebane Memorial Gardens. The family will receive family and friends one hour prior to the service on Sunday at the funeral home in Mebane.
