Nancy Carol Faulk Ashley Litman, aged 66, left her mortal constraints too soon on December 27, 2023 at Duke Hospital. She was a true follower of the Lord and an angel on earth who now wears her heavenly wings.

Nancy graduated in 1976 from Eastern Alamance High School where she was a member of the National Honor Society. She had known since she was a little girl that nursing was her calling, and at the age of 15 began volunteering as a candy striper at the old Alamance County and Memorial Hospitals in Burlington. After high school, she attended Watts School of Nursing and graduated from the Technical College of Alamance (now ACC) as an RN. Nancy began work at Alamance County Hospital and eventually moved to Cone Hospital. She worked in the Med-Surg and Dialysis units before finding her true passion, working with oncology patients at Alamance Regional Hospital. Nancy moved into Hospice care from which she eventually retired. Nursing was sacred to her. If one of her patients needed a change in their care plan, she would be on the phone with the doctor at 3 am if necessary. Nancy let nothing stand in the way of providing the highest quality of care.

In 1976 Nancy married the late Jerry Ashley and they welcomed their two son’s Joseph Faulk Ashley, Sr. and Christopher Andrew Ashley. Nancy married the late Paul Litman in 1990 and they welcomed their son Matthew Paul Litman.

Nancy’s parents were the late Vance “Dick” Faulk and Vina Lou Slaughter Faulk of Mebane and later of Snow Camp. Her brother, Jerry Faulk of Topsail Island died in 2004. She was the granddaughter of the late Johnson and Ida Slaughter and the late Hattie Faulk Hewitt. Nancy was also preceded in death by an infant grandson Paul Edward Litman and nephews Tristan Qualls and Brian and Brandon Boulanger.

Nancy is survived by her 3 boys: Joey and wife Heather, Andy, Matthew and wife Amanda; her grandchildren Vanessa “Nessa” Davis, Angelica “Geli” Ashley, Joseph “JJ” Ashley, Jr., Victoria “Tori” Ashley, Vance Ashley, Corbin Litman, Ezra Morales, Cameron Morse, Emma Moore, Chloe Moore and Logan Minton; her great-grandchildren Chloe and Mason Ashley and Aubree Ashley; her sister, Susan Faulk Hamner and husband Steve of Greensboro and her sister-in-law Cindy Faulk Fontana of Burgaw.  Also surviving are very special nieces and nephews, Lisa Faulk Boulanger, Crystal Hamner Cox, Rebecca Hamner Popoli, Jeff Faulk and Brett Faulk. Nancy had many beloved cousins and one very special cousin, Cheryl Willetts Pearce who was like a sister to her. Also surviving is dear former daughter-in-law Paris Lloyd Ashley, close friend Dianne Hunter  and many, many bonus children who thought of her as their Mom.
