Nannie “Ruth” Carter, 78, of Elon passed away on Friday, August 21, 2020 at her home. Survivors include her husband of 55 years, James Oakes Carter, Sr. of the home; son, James Carter, Jr. and wife Wendy of Elon; daughters, Lynn Carter Parker and husband Mickey of Burlington, Vickie Carter Irby of Burlington; grandchildren, Emily Carter Harris, Chris Morris, Tyler Self and Kaitlyn Loy; great grandchildren, Brayden White, Lainey Self, Carleigh Harris and Isleigh Harris; brothers, Curtis Craddock and Richard Craddock; sister, Nancy Perkins. She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Claudia Atkins Craddock; sisters, Alice Faye Jordan and Margaret Craddock.
A graveside service to celebrate her life will be held 11:00 AM Tuesday in Alamance Memorial Park by Pastor Steve Tucker of Attamahaw Baptist Church. Friends and family are welcome to attend. The family will receive friends and visitors at the home at all other times.
