Natasha Euliss-Uftring Obituary

Natasha Ray Euliss-Uftring, 50, of Hillsborough, NC, passed away on Tuesday December 26, 2023, at her residence. She is the daughter of the late Mayor Victor “Vic” Euliss and Judy Ray Euliss. Natasha graduated from The Blessed Sacrament School and Williams High School, both in Burlington, NC. She graduated from Elon College in Elon, NC with a bachelor’s degree, majoring in both Political Science and Marketing/Communications. Natasha was proud of the work she did to run and expand the “Safety Town” children’s education program in Greensboro, NC for many years while she was employed by the Greensboro Police Department and an active member of the Greensboro Jaycees. Natasha was very proud that she was the fourth generation of the Euliss family to become a firefighter. She was a volunteer firefighter with the Hillsborough Fire Department/Orange Rural Fire Department and the Cedar Grove Fire Department. Natasha was an avid sports car owner and driver, especially her Alfa Romeos. She was a member of the Mid-Atlantic Alfa Romeo Club for many years in the 1990s and early 2000s, and an active member of the North Carolina Region of the Sports Car Club of America (NCR-SCCA) for over 20 years. Natasha, holding multiple licenses with the SCCA for: Emergency Services Fire & Rescue, Emergency Service Medical, Flagging and Communications, Grid & Pit, Race Admin, and Registrar, was a frequent volunteer with the NCR-SCCA, most recently as part of the Paddock Marshall Load-in team at the SCCA National Championship Runoffs, but also as an active Pace Car Communicator at NRC-SCCA races all occurring at Virginia International Raceway (VIR) in Alton, VA. In addition to the SCCA races, she was a member of the Fire & Rescue team at IMSA and Grand-Am professional races held at VIR. As if racing cars on pavement was already enough, Natasha was an avid stage rally fan, volunteering on the Fire & Rescue team at several American Rally Association stage rallies in North Carolina and West Virginia. In March 2023 graduated from the 3-day Rally Driver’s School at DirtFish Rally School in Snoqualmie, WA. She also was a volunteer at the Sundance Film Festival in Park City, Utah beginning in 2010. Over her years volunteering at the Sundance Film Festival, Natasha was an usher, the balloting counting team manager, and an at-the theater box office coordinator. She was the smiling face a Sundance patron would encounter at the box office when they had an issue with their credentials and tickets. Patrons, Sundance Institute staff, other volunteers, along with the occasional producer, director, or actor who stopped by the theater box office were all Natasha’s friends. Survivors include her husband of 20 years, John Uftring of the home; her mother Judy Ray Euliss of Graham, NC; her sister Nadia Pickens and fiance, Jimmy Pate of Graham, NC; her adored nephew Ryker Pickens of Graham, NC and Liberty, NC; her aunt Glenda Riggs of Mebane, NC; her cousins Renee Riggs, Brandy Weatherford, and Shaylin Diana; her loving German Shepherd Victoria (Tori), and many loving cousins and friends. Natasha was preceded in death by her father Victor Euliss, her uncle James Roland “Buck” Riggs Jr., her uncle Alvis Weatherford, and her aunt Emma Weatherford. Per Natasha’s wishes, the family will receive friends during a visitation/remembrance from 2:00pm – 4:00pm on Saturday, February 17th, 2024 at McClure Funeral Home, 1030 S Main Street, Graham, NC.
