Paul Whitley Obituary

Paul Wesley Whitley, 79, of Burlington, passed away on February 11, 2021 at The Hospice Home of Burlington after a brief illness.  He was a native of Alamance County and the husband of 29 years to Mary Jarrett Whitley, who survives.
Paul worked for Burlington Industries for 42 years, starting at the Pioneer Plant and eventually moving to the Reidsville Plant and retired in 2003.  He attended Haw River United Church of Christ (later called Haw River Christian Church and now The Lamb’s Chapel) where he professed his faith and was born again on Sunday, June 27, 1965.  He joined the church on July 4, 1965 and was baptized on September 26, 1965.   He later moved his membership to Bible Baptist Church where he taught Sunday School and enjoyed activities such as Brunswick stews and gospel singing.  He loved his church family and they loved him.  Paul was a US Navy Veteran.  He enjoyed family gatherings with his Sisters, Aunts, and Cousins to talk about the old days.   His greatest joy was his grandchildren.  He had seven grandsons and six great-grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife, Mary J. Whitley of the home; daughter, Kathy W. Walker of Haw River; son Roger D. Whitley (Michelle) of Siler City, daughter, Angela W.
