R. Keith Bulla, 81, of Greensboro, NC, the son of William O. Bulla and Lessie Mae Neese of Burlington, NC passed away on Saturday, March 11, 2023.
Keith was born on March 5, 1942 in Alamance County, NC, and was preceded in death by his wife of 57 years Kendra Bulla, and grandson, Chase “Dodo” Bulla.
Keith is survived by his two sons and their families including his eldest son, Bobby and Robin Bulla of Trinity, NC along with a grandson, T. J. Bulla and his wife, Hope; and Keith’s youngest son, Brian Bulla and Tayve Neese of Winston-Salem, NC; Keith is also survived by his sister, Linda Mintz and her husband Gary Mintz of Charlotte, NC and their family.
As a native of Alamance County Keith graduated from Graham High School in 1960 and then from Elon College before attending pharmacy school at UNC-Chapel Hill. In 1969 he began a career with the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation and was a member of the first class of the SBI Academy. He enjoyed his work and the many professional and personal friendships that developed with his colleagues in the Bureau. In 1989 Keith was named as a recipient of The Order of the Long Leaf Pine award for his decades of significant contributions to the state of NC as a Special Agent in Charge and eventually retired from the Bureau.
Keith enjoyed sailing and socializing with his many sailing friends through the US Power Squadron and boating clubs. In retirement he could often be found working in the yard with his loving wife, Kendra; attending youth or high school athletic events in Trinity in support of Dodo and TJ; or sailing on the Neuse River from Matthews Point.
Service and celebration of Keith Bulla (deceased 3/11/2023) and Kendra Bulla (deceased 7/16/2020) are scheduled to be held from 2-4pm on Sunday, April 16, 2023 at Christ United Methodist Church at 410 N. Holden Rd. in Greensboro, NC.
