Ralph Thomas Pyrtle

Mr. Ralph Thomas Pyrtle, 91, of Graham, NC, passed away on November 6, 2023, at his residence after a year and a half of failing health. A native of Alamance Co. NC, he was the son of the late Thomas Byron Pyrtle and Mary Poe Pyrtle. Ralph retired with 30 years of service from Burlington Industries, retiring as a shipping supervisor with Culp Finishing. Following retirement, he worked part time for many years at South Graham Elementary School. He was a faithful member of Burlington Assembly of God and a proud veteran of the US Army, receiving the National Defense Service Metal. He will forever be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend to all. Survivors include his loving wife of 70 years, Wilma Marshall Pyrtle; his loving children, Carol Grizzle, and husband Bill, Hollye Long, Lea Pyrtle, Dee Lutterloh, Larry Pyrtle, and Susan Clark; his loving grandchildren, Brandon Long and wife Tiffany, Kristie Barton, Karen Sefner, Dustin Lutterloh, and Nicholas Lutterloh; his great grandchildren, Penelope and Camilla Long, Jordan Honeycutt, Zayden Carter, Kolden and Eden Medley, and Jacob Lutterloh; his loving nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, David Pyrtle, and his siblings. A private memorial service will be held at a later date. A special thank you to Jordan Moore, Vida Otero, and Melinda Dickens along with the staff of AuthoraCare Hospice in Burlington for all the love and care shown to Ralph during this difficult time.
