Rilla Louise (Kurth) Miller

Rilla Louise Miller, age 91, of Burlington, NC passed away on Tuesday, May 9, 2023 (three days shy of her 92nd birthday) in her home while under the care of AuthoraCare hospice.

She was born May12,1931 in Madison, WI to Jacob and Louise (Littel) Kurth.

Rilla was a loving and hard working woman.  She worked as a secretary for Cuna Mutual Group and WPS over the years while also raising seven wonderful children.  Rilla enjoyed crocheting, needle point, coloring, bird watching, admiring nature, and traveling.  Rilla was happiest when surrounded by her family and she especially enjoyed the company of her grandchildren.

One of the true joys for Rilla was when she found love later in her life and married Max Miller.  Being a retired semi-truck driver, Max knew his way around the United States, and was able to drive Rilla in his 5th wheel camper on various trips  Their adventures took them as far north as Alaska and as far south as Texas.  They shared many laughs together and were blissfully happy. 

The last few years of Rilla’s life were spent in North Carolina with her loving daughter and son-in-law, Cathy and Terry. 

Rilla is survived by her children, Linda Dunn of Wisconsin, Kerry (Vicky) Dunn of Wisconsin, Greg (Heidi) Dunn of Missouri, Cathy (Terry) Creech of North Carolina and David (Jenifer) Dunn of Wisconsin; daughter-in-law, Diane Dunn of Wyoming; son-in-law, Chris Hinkes of Wisconsin; 10 grandchildren, Wendy (Mark) Eherenman Nelson, Dustin (Erica) Dunn, Jaime (Josh) Dunn Farkas, Laura Dunn, Jake (Haley Roe) Dunn, Dan Dunn, Matthew Kessenich, Jeffrey Kessenich, Carter Dunn and Abigail Dunn; 9 great-grandchildren, Patrick Lauritz, Brandon Nelson, Cade Nelson, Isaac Dunn, Michael Dunn, Jonathan Dunn, Ellie Dunn, James Farkas, Mercea Farkas.

She was preceded in death by her Sister Ruth Gallus, brother Ray Kurth, husband, Max Miller; and children Steve Dunn and Rilla Hinkes.

A private memorial service will be held by her family.
