Mr. Rodney Wilson Bateman 54, of Snow Camp, NC passed away On Friday September 17, 2021 at the Alamance Regional Medical Center in Burlington. A native of Alamance Co. NC, he was the son of the late Woodrow Wilson Bateman and Bonnie Susan McDaniel. Known to his buddies as “Hotwire”, he was an avid outdoorsman who loved nature and being outside. Rodney had a special love for fishing, hunting, gardening or whatever he could do as long as he was outdoors. He was a devoted husband meeting his wife when he was 14 and she 12, he loved his children with all of his heart but nothing put a smile on his face like his 3 grandsons. Survivors include his wife of 35 years, Sonya Holt Bateman; his daughter, Taylor Harbin and husband Barry; a son, Dustin Bateman and wife Heather; his loving grandchildren, Huck Cooper Bateman, Owen Grey Harbin, Beau Easton Harbin and his new grandson that’s on the way, Rodney Crew Harbin; his sister, Wendy B. Wilburn and husband Lennie, and his two special nieces, Whitney Payne and husband Brent and Rachel Wilburn. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday September 21, 2021 at the McClure Funeral Home Chapel with the Pastor Darrell Moser officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Hermon United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 PM on Monday September 20, 2021 at McClure Funeral Home in Graham.
