Samuel George McKinney Obituary
Born July 29, 1926 to the late Samuel Dewey and Viola Byrd McKinney in Caswell County, NC. He
married the late Evelyn Hadley McKinney in 1950.
Mr. McKinney was a WWII veteran. He was very proud of his service to his country and enjoyed
sharing his experiences with his family and friends.
Mr. McKinney graduated from Pleasant Grove High School. He also graduated from Burlington
Business College where he studied accounting and met his future bride.
Mr. McKinney worked as a parts manager for Atwater Ford over 40 years. He worked at Stearns
Ford. After retirement, Mr. McKinney worked at Bill Ingold Lincoln Mercury and University Ford in
Durham.
A member of Graham Friends Church, Mr. McKinney faithfully helped with the maintenance of
the church, Quaker men and was an usher for many years.
Mr. McKinney is survived by a son Dana McKinney (Donna) of Burlington and a daughter, Sylvia
Williams (George) of Charlotte. Grandchildren, Rachel Wilborn (Travis), Adam McKinney
(Karaline), George M. Williams and Sarah Williams. Great grandchildren, Aurora, Alyssa, Alexavier
and soon to be baby McKinney. Brothers-in-law David Cale and Harry Wilson. Sister-in-law
Jeanette Hadley. Mr. McKinney is also survived by numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
Mr. McKinney was predeceased by son, Neal McKinney; Brothers-James Allen McKinney, Aubrey
McKinney, William McKinney and Sylvester McKinney; Sisters-Elizabeth Foster and Nina Cale.
In lieu of flowers, memorials to be made to Graham Friends Church at 700 N Main St. Graham or
a favorite charity.
Respects may be made on Friday, January 15, at McClure Funeral in Graham from 9am - 5pm.
The family will not be available during visitation. The family all the prayers and condolences that have been sent.
