Thomas “Tommy” Lee Wiles, 73, went home to be with his Lord and Savior December 31, 2020 while surrounded by his family after a year-long battle with illness.
Tommy was greatly beloved by his family, church members at Burlington Assembly of God and friends. He dedicated his life to being the compassionate, merciful hands and feet of Jesus to the homeless and those suffering from addictions. He touched many lives with his powerful testimony of the redeeming power and love of God. From the time he was young, Tommy had a tender heart for others. He was a gifted wood craftsman and songwriter. He truly lived a life of gratitude for his family, friendships and God’s love.
He was preceded in death by his father Dewey James Wiles and mother Edna Meeks Wiles; sister Frances Griffin; brothers Carl Wiles and Bernard Wiles.
He is survived by sisters Peggy Devos (Hank); Elsie Blevins (Ronald) and Mickie Caulder (Lynn); any many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
We as a family would like to thank all the medical providers at Duke Medical Center, ARMC Cancer Center Dr. Govinda Brahmanday, Tommy’s niece Kim Shoffner for the loving care she provided him during his long illness, as well as AuthoraCare Hospice.
