Billy Robert Cecil

Billy “Bill” Robert Cecil, 81, of Efland, passed away peacefully on April 5th, 2024 after a short battle with leukemia. He was born July 18th, 1942 to the late Clay Franklin and Joy Belle Cecil.

He leaves behind his wife Florence W. Cecil. He is survived by his children Lorinda Cecil, Billy (Jill) Cecil, Sherry Cecil, Robert (Danielle) Cecil, and Amanda (Bobby) Gray. He also leaves behind 13 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren, 4 sisters, and many friends. He is preceded in death by his daughter Jamie Bowman, a brother, and a sister.

Throughout the years he spent his time riding horses, attending horse shows, hunting, lawn mower pulling, watching nascar racing, listening to bluegrass music, gardening, and tinkering on lawn mowers. He was also an active member of the Efland Ruritan Club where we enjoyed helping the community and making friendships along the way.

He was a man of few words but he made sure you knew his opinion. He loved his family and friends. He was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. He enjoyed the simpler things in life.

The family invites everyone to a visitation at McClure funeral home in Mebane on Tuesday April 9th, 2024 between 5-7pm.
