Jennifer Mae Cecil

Jennifer Mae Jones Cecil, 77, of Mebane, NC, passed away peacefully at home and surrounded by family on April 8, 2024, after years of declining health. 

She was born August 17, 1946 to the late Vernon D and Nellie Lancaster Jones. She is survived by her children Lorinda Cecil, Billy and his wife Jill Cecil, and Sherry Cecil. She also leaves behind 10 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, one sister Betsy Rhodes, and her grand-dog, Minnie. She is preceded in death by her daughter Jamie Cecil Bowman, and her brother Daryl Jones.

She retired from Kingsdown in 2010 where she made many close friends. She enjoyed rising early on Saturday mornings to hit the yard sales. She loved scenic rides to the mountains, as well as surf fishing at Topsail Island. Her hobbies included cooking out with the family, solving crossword puzzles and word searches, and reading her favorite books. Most of all, she cherished spending time with her family and loving companion Minnie. She also had great tastes in music, like Queen and the Hollies. 

She helped and cared for many people over the years and will be greatly missed.

A celebration of life will be held in her honor at her home on Saturday, April 20th at 3 pm. The address is 6417 US Hwy 70, Mebane, NC 27302.
