Norma Edwards Obituary

Norma Wyleene was born in Moore county on December 16, 1939 to the late Rev Raymond and Ruth Webb. In high school she met a young man, Larry Edward Edwards from the Village Of Alamance who walked to Bellemont every morning to ride with her on the school bus to EM Holt. They were married and lived in Burlington where she attended the Burlington Business School. They welcomed their first child Larry Edward Edwards Jr. in 1963. She worked at home as a homemaker and took care of Larry Jr along with numerous foster children and children in the community that she loved as her own. Much to her and her husband’s surprise they were blessed with a baby girl and Jennifer became the little girl her mother always wanted. Norma Wyleene loved people and sought work in the public setting. She worked as a seamstress at the Mastercraft Casket Company and she worked for many years at the former BMOC at the Eagle’s Eye apparel store. In time she was blessed with a grandson and he became her and her husband’s focus and love. She then moved on in her career and became a seamstress and later worked at the retail store for Drapery Boutique. When the announcement was made that another grandchild was on the way she retired and for 20 years Jon and Jennifer’s daughter Addison became Nanny’s focus. Nanny started Addison in dance and to this day she still loves to dance and has made it a huge part of her life. Nanny made cakes and was a talented baker and especially loved to make her Christmas Fruitcake Cookies. She also made clothes for Addison and even did facemasks for folks during the Covid Outbreak. In all Norma was someone who loved her family and cherished her friends. Norma was also a charter member of New Bridge Church.

Norma Wyleene was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Larry Edward Edwards Sr, Her Son Larry Edward Edwards Jr and a great grandchild. Siblings Annie Ruth (Webb) Parker, Imogene Webb Ingram, Julia Ann (Webb) Sykes.

She is survived by daughter Jennifer Ann Edwards-Helton and husband Jon, granddaughter Addison Kelsey Helton. Grandson Larry Edward Edwards III and wife Tracey, 10 great grandchildren. Brother Johnny Webb and numerous nieces and nephews. She is also survived by two young ladies she was fond of Jayla London and Jessica London Funk.
